Charlie keeps his Cessna 206 in Smyrna based at the EAA Hangar complex. He comes over to our side of the airport to buy fuel and launch flights in support of Rural Animal Rescue Effort (RARE)

Recently Fox News 17 from Nashville came to the Smyrna Airport to do a story on RARE and Charlie’s flight out with a plane load of dogs heading to new homes in Michigan.

Thanks to Charlie these pups will find new homes and forever families. For those of us who are animal lovers this is a great story about the intersection of private aviation and animal rescue. This goes on all over the country through the volunteer efforts of pilots / aircraft owners who have a heart for animal rescue.
